The Legal Unit at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University held a scientific symposium entitled (The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Combating Corruption) presented by Dr. Ali Hamza Jabr and Legal M. Ali Jabbar Talib. The symposium aimed to demonstrate that corruption is a crime that weakens public facilities. In response, the emergence of artificial intelligence provides a powerful tool that can revolutionize the fight against these illegal activities by analyzing large amounts of data, identifying patterns, and automating monitoring. Artificial intelligence can detect corruption with unprecedented efficiency, as artificial intelligence is characterized by processing huge amounts of data and identifying patterns that are difficult for humans to detect manually. The symposium concluded that corruption as a crime is active and increasingly committed where there is a lack of transparency and accountability. Artificial intelligence is capable of improving transparency by automating the monitoring of government activities, contracting methods, and financial and administrative transactions in public facilities. The symposium recommended that the Council of Ministers implement the e-government system in the state ministries and its various agencies and introduce the artificial intelligence system as well as implement the technical administrative oversight system as is the case in most countries in the world.
