Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Kazem Nuwair Al-Zubaidi, the Media and Government Communication Division organized a seminar titled “Introduction to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs,” presented by Dr. Samer Muhammad Ali, Director of the Disability and Special Needs Care Authority in Diwaniyah, and Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Saadi.
The seminar aimed to introduce the most important rights that individuals with disabilities should receive, as well as the essential guidelines to follow when interacting with persons with special needs. It also sought to promote their social integration and rehabilitation, encouraging positive communication and interaction while completely avoiding complaints or discussions about specific issues, and discouraging staring or showing any negative reactions upon seeing them or bullying them.
The seminar recommended the necessity of caring for persons with special needs, reviewing the enacted laws that guarantee all their rights, and ensuring compliance with and implementation of these laws.
