Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, Dean of the College of Arts, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Arts at Al-Qadisiyah University organized an educational seminar titled “The Dangers of Violence, Its Types, and Ways to Confront It,” presented by M.M. Suhad Fahim Sabhan and Mr. Hussein Mahmoud Ali, with the session managed by M.M. Zainab Mohammed Hamza.
The seminar addressed the concept of violence and its causes, focusing on its effects on women and children, particularly concerning physical, verbal, and suggestive violence. It also discussed ways to prevent this phenomenon by adopting positive behaviors to confront it and emphasized the importance of raising community awareness about the dangers of violence and its negative effects on individuals and families.
The seminar recommended the necessity of educating the community to reject violence in all its forms and to protect women’s rights and status by both the family and society, while highlighting the state’s role in reducing the phenomenon of violence through the enforcement of law to achieve general and specific deterrence for the entire community and the urgent need for legislation of a specific law on domestic violence.
