The College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organizes a cultural morning on how to protect oneself from electronic blackmail

The Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Electronics and Communications Department at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a cultural morning entitled (Protecting your privacy – How to protect yourself from electronic blackmail), presented by M.M. Israa Riyadh Al-Ghara and M.D. Fahd Ahmed Al-Mayali. The morning aimed to clarify the concept of electronic blackmail and shed light on its various types, while discussing its negative effects on individuals and society. It also showed that blackmail is carried out via social media sites by using personal information, photos and videos that are exchanged via these platforms; as the blackmailer threatens to publish this information or use it against the targeted person unless his demands are met, which could be financial, or in dealing with another specific demand
