Using the Western Blot technique, researchers can identify specific proteins from a complex mixture of proteins extracted from cells. This technique uses three elements to accomplish this task: (1) separation by size, (2) transfer to a solid support, and (3) labeling the target protein using appropriate primary and secondary antibodies to clarify it.
The course included: Western Blot is a very useful technique in detecting proteins, as it allows the user to measure the amount of protein expression as well. This paper discusses the protocol, the theory behind the protocol, and some troubleshooting techniques. The Western blot technique can be thought of as a complex balancing act, where the researcher is trying to obtain a non-specific but strong signal.

The Western blot technique is often used in research to separate and identify proteins. In this technique, a mixture of proteins is separated based on molecular weight, and therefore by species, by gel electrophoresis. These results are then transferred to a membrane that produces a band for each protein. The membrane is then incubated with antibody tags specific to the protein of interest.

The unbound antibodies are washed away so that only the antibodies bound to the protein of interest remain. The bound antibodies are then detected by developing the film. Since the antibodies only bind to the protein of interest, only one band should be visible. The thickness of the band corresponds to the amount of protein present; therefore, performing a standard can indicate the amount of protein present. The paper will first describe the Western blot protocol, accompanied by

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul … اقرأ أكثر

[163

post-9910","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-courses-and-workshops
["GET
