The Department of Private Law at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University held a scientific symposium entitled (The Role of Predictive Justice in Achieving Judicial Security), in which Prof. Asaad Fadhel Mandeel and M.M. Arslan Abbas Jaber lectured. The symposium aimed to shed light on a contemporary topic that poses an important challenge in the field of legal studies. Therefore, it has become important to identify the role that artificial intelligence algorithms predict in the judicial system in general and the role of these algorithms in achieving confidence in the judicial institution, and reassurance of what results from it as it carries out its mission in applying the law and achieving justice, by reaching a fair judicial ruling in which the actual truth matches the actual truth. The symposium concluded that due to the development of technology and the use of artificial intelligence techniques in the field of judiciary and data analysis to predict legal decisions or judicial outcomes based on certain information or patterns, this can sometimes lead to errors and algorithmic biases such as feeding these algorithms with incorrect or biased data. The symposium recommended benefiting from the use of artificial intelligence in the field of litigation, but this does not include all lawsuits, but rather simple ones, as predictive models may carry bias based on unfair or incomplete data, and sometimes judicial decisions require taking into account human aspects that algorithms may not understand, such as custody and judicial separation lawsuits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
