Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and supervised by Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, Dean of the College of Arts, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Atheer Abdul Amir Al-Mashhadi, Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, along with the ministerial committee tasked with monitoring university activities for the Iraqi Week for Combating Drugs, the College of Arts at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a scientific seminar in collaboration with the Center for Counseling and Psychological and Social Services at the University Presidency titled “Health Knowledge and Its Role in Combating Drug Abuse and Prevention.” The seminar featured presentations by Dr. Mai Jalil Abdul, Assistant Professor Dr. Salam Hashim Hafiz, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Jari, Assistant Professor Dr. Hussam Muhammad Munshid, and Dr. Rasha Abbas Al-Jinabi.<\/p>\n
The seminar aimed to educate university youth about the harms of psychoactive substances on mental and physical health and the Iraqi legislation and laws for combating psychoactive substances. The seminar was divided into several axes, including the chemistry of psychoactive substances, their health effects, medical treatments for addicts of psychoactive substances, withdrawal symptoms and relapses faced by addicts of psychoactive substances, psychological treatments for them, how to prevent them, and the legal regulations in Iraqi law regarding their cultivation, possession, and the penalties associated with them.<\/p>\n
The main recommendations included calling on educational institutions to reconsider their educational methods and adapt them in a way that enhances their effectiveness against the challenges that society will face, including the problem of psychoactive substance abuse and its health harms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
