The Educational and Psychological Supervision Unit at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a scientific seminar titled \u201cThe Scourge of Drugs and Its Harmful Effects on the Family and Society,\u201d presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Hamza Jabir and Assist. Prof. Dr. Layla Hamza Radi, and managed by Assist. Prof. Abdullah Jabar Khashan.<\/p>\n

The seminar aimed to clarify the legislative stance in confronting the scourge of drugs and the role of the state in addressing it through the legislations it issues and the measures taken by the relevant authorities on this issue, such as the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health, for example. The seminar also aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs at both the individual and societal levels, as they affect the social foundations upon which society is built.<\/p>\n

The seminar indicated that due to the seriousness of drugs, the topic of combating them has garnered the attention of the international community, as it poses a threat to the security of societies and states alike.<\/p>\n

The seminar concluded that drugs are a phenomenon that domestic legislations and international agreements have consistently sought to confront through the use of therapeutic and preventive methods that contribute to reducing this phenomenon. It also concluded that the impact of drugs on societal values has become an urgent danger that the state is keen to confront by all available means.<\/p>\n

The seminar recommended the necessity of increasing methods to combat drugs by learning from the experiences of developed countries in this field. It also recommended enhancing awareness of the dangers of drugs by having educational institutions take their role in raising awareness and highlighting the risks to societal values.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
