Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fattah Alawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and on the occasion of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Surgery and Obstetrics Department in the college organized a scientific workshop on how to anesthetize birds, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Kazem Manahi.<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to understand the indications for using general anesthesia in birds and the medications used for this purpose. It also included discussions on the use of local anesthesia in birds, the recommended dosages, and administration methods. The workshop recommended that the use of ketamine in conjunction with xylazine, at the appropriate dosages based on the bird’s weight, is the optimal injectable anesthetic, while isoflurane is the optimal inhalational anesthetic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
