Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Al-Khalidi, the Department of Communications and Electronics Engineering at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a scientific symposium entitled (The Next Generation of Mobile Phone Networks: 6G \/ 5G Space Networks) in the Postgraduate Discussion Hall, in which Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hussein Rafis and Dr. Haider Mazen Makki lectured. The symposium discussed the challenges associated with the application of phased-array antennas (Phased-Array Antenna) necessary to achieve narrow beam formation in terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. The symposium also reviewed radio beamforming techniques (Beamforming) in fifth and sixth generation networks (5G \/ 6G) using non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) based on satellites, and highlighted developments in material technologies that enable the manufacture of small and effective massive MIMO antennas, such as nano arrays that include 1024 \u00d7 1024 elements and occupy an area of \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b1 mm\u00b2 at terahertz frequencies (1-10 terahertz).
