The College of Biotechnology at Al-Qadisiyah University holds a workshop on the misuse of social media and its impact on academic performance.<\/p>\n
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Biotechnology, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahab Al-Iraqi, the College of Biotechnology held a workshop titled “The Misuse of Social Media and Its Impact on Academic Performance,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Kamel Al-Taie.<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to highlight the negative effects of excessive use of social media and the importance of awareness of these risks. It also focused on reviewing the latest concepts related to social networks as one of the most significant and impactful results of the information revolution in society.<\/p>\n
The workshop also addressed how social media and excessive use of these platforms can lead to several psychological and mental challenges, including increased neural stimulation, reduced ability to focus and pay attention, heightened feelings of anxiety and stress, and weakened memory and cognition.<\/p>\n
The workshop recommended the importance of managing social media use consciously and setting specific times for interaction with it, while focusing on beneficial content and encouraging alternative activities that promote mental health.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
