The Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology at the College of Veterinary Medicine held a discussion session on the process of oocyte developmental competence and the role of the oviduct. Assistant Professor Dr. Miad Jabbar Sahib lectured. The session aimed to familiarize the attendees with the process of oocyte developmental competence and its importance in fertilization and pregnancy in female mammals. The session demonstrated the important role played by the oviduct in the process of oocytes acquiring the necessary competence for development in terms of the speed of oocyte movement through it and the contraction of spindle threads. The session recommended the need to conduct future studies to identify the most important proteins in the oviduct whose gene expression level increases at this stage and what is the mechanism through which they acquire oocytes developmental competence<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
