As part of Al-Qadisiyah University’s efforts to enhance its position in global rankings and elevate its research standing, the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yassiri, held an extensive meeting in his office with the Advisory Committee for Scientific Research and International Rankings, chaired by Professor Dr. Abbas Sabbar Dakhel.<\/p>\n
The meeting addressed several key topics related to the state of scientific research at the university and the challenges of advancing in international rankings. The committee reviewed the university’s performance in prominent global rankings, including the Times Higher Education ranking, the British QS ranking, and the GreenMetric ranking for sustainability and green universities. The committee acknowledged the significant progress made in some areas and called for greater efforts to achieve effective inclusion in prestigious rankings such as QS. The University President also discussed with the committee a number of important proposals, including a proposal to enter the QS World University Rankings, a report on the prestigious Nature Index of global publications, and the importance of supporting researchers in this field, as well as mechanisms for activating open access to scientific resources through partnerships with international publishers.<\/p>\n
The meeting also addressed the project to develop academic and research infrastructure in line with the requirements of academic accreditation, and emphasized the importance of strategic initiatives to sign international cooperation agreements with universities and research centers worldwide, particularly in the humanities. These agreements would include twinning programs, joint supervision, and diverse scientific activities.<\/p>\n
