The first, titled “Sustainable Mortar for Structural Repairs Incorporating Master Boards and Recycled Steel Fibers: An Experimental Study and Methodological Evaluation,” was published in the journal Scientific Reports, ranked in the first quartile (Q1), with a CiteScore of 6.7 and an Impact Factor of 3.9, published by Springer Nature. The research explores the development of an environmentally friendly cementitious mortar using waste-derived materials. Specifically, it utilizes up to 20% ground master boards combined with 1% steel fibers extracted from electrical wire waste. The results showed a significant improvement in compressive and flexural strengths, particularly with the optimal mix (1% steel fibers + 10% masterbatch), achieving a suitable balance between durability and workability. This contributes to enhancing sustainability in on-site concrete repair work.
