The College of Agriculture at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a visit to the General Secretariat of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine to discuss avenues for joint cooperation aimed at developing the College of Agriculture and collaborating in the fields of agricultural and animal production, student training, and conducting scientific research for students of the College and other disciplines in other colleges.<\/p>\n
The College of Agriculture delegation included the Dean, Professor Dr. Hayawi Yousef Atiya, as head, and members Dr. Raad Farhan Shahad and Mr. Majid Fahim Jaafar. The university’s desire to implement the following projects in cooperation with the Holy Shrine was discussed:<\/p>\n
1- Livestock breeding and meat and milk production.<\/p>\n
2- Establishing poultry farms.<\/p>\n
3- Establishing fish farms.<\/p>\n
4. Establishing farms for growing vegetables and fruits.<\/p>\n
5. Establishing agricultural nurseries for selling trees and ornamental plants.
\n6. Establishing orchards, parks, or urban forests.
\n7. Establishing apiaries and selling honey.
\n8. Establishing a factory for milk and dairy products.
\n9. Establishing a tomato paste factory.<\/p>\n
10. Establishing a feed manufacturing plant.<\/p>\n
11. Establishing a factory for manufacturing chemical, organic, and bio-fertilizers.<\/p>\n
Through these projects, the university aims to train students, develop their skills, and utilize their youthful energy. It also aims to support students who wish to work during holidays and breaks with financial compensation, in addition to fostering cooperation to achieve public benefit, support markets, sell products to university affiliates at subsidized prices, provide job opportunities, and utilize the college’s land and the scientific expertise of its professors. The committee also met with the consulting engineer, Razzaq Ali Al-Tai, head of the Agricultural Authority at the Holy Shrine, and discussed the aforementioned projects with him. They agreed on a future visit by the specialized committee to the College of Agriculture to assess the current situation and agree on a plan for implementing the projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
