Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Al-Khalidi, the Department of Sociology at the College of Arts, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a scientific seminar entitled “Social Awareness and its Role in Reducing Drug Use Among Youth.” The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Alaa Jawad and moderated by Dr. Raed Al-Badiri.<\/p>\n

The seminar addressed the necessity of creating a social environment resistant to drugs. The more aware society is of the dangers, the less susceptible youth are to facilitating drug use. Prevention is key before the problem arises. Higher awareness among young people reduces the likelihood of first-time drug use. Increased community awareness also contributes to reducing negative judgment on those recovering from addiction and encourages them to continue their recovery.
