Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Obaid, the Psychological Counseling and Social Guidance Unit at the College of Science organized a workshop entitled “Combating the Social Stigma of Drug Addicts.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Wael Fadhil Aziz, Dr. Bushra Hamed Hassan, and Mr. Ahmed Dawaza Kadhim.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to highlight the negative effects of social stigma on addicts and their families, change negative societal perceptions, and emphasize the importance of creating a supportive environment to facilitate their reintegration into society after treatment.<\/p>\n

Key recommendations included using respectful language that focuses on the individual rather than their condition, promoting family and social support instead of blame and exclusion, developing rehabilitation and self-support programs for recovering addicts, and launching comprehensive community awareness campaigns to correct misconceptions about drug addiction.
