The Department of Public Law at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University held a scientific symposium entitled “Constitutional Developments in Iraq.” Professor Adnan Ajil Obaid and Professor Ghanem Abdul Dahsh lectured at the symposium.<\/p>\n

The symposium aimed to shed light on the pivotal moments in the country’s constitutional history and highlight their impact on the 2005 Constitution of the Republic of Iraq, a democratic constitution whose approval was granted to the people in the 2005 popular referendum.<\/p>\n

The symposium concluded that the grave political events and the military’s seizure of power plunged the country into a state of conspiracies, resulting in a distorted constitutional life from 1958 until the catastrophic occupation of 2003.<\/p>\n
