Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Salwan Al-Hamzawi, the Chemistry Department at the College of Science organized a specialized scientific symposium entitled “How Scientific Research Helps in the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Other Materials Industry.” Professor Nabil Abdul-Ridha and Assistant Professor Taiba Ibrahim Muhammad presented the symposium.<\/p>\n

The symposium was divided into three axes. The first discussed the general contributions of scientific research to the development of science, as scientific research has helped formulate new theories and principles that explain natural and social phenomena. It also works to review old theories and correct or refute them based on new evidence. The second, more important, axe addressed scientific research as the foundation of pharmaceutical innovation. Scientific research is the cornerstone of the modern pharmaceutical industry, as it is the main driver that drives innovation and progress in this sector. The third axis of the symposium, a modern and important topic at the present time, is molecular docking. The general concept of molecular docking, a modern computer technology in drug design, was addressed.<\/p>\n

The symposium reached a set of recommendations, including the importance of scientific research by university and research institutions, as it is not merely a means of discovering facts, but rather an ongoing and dynamic process that fuels development in all aspects of life and constitutes the fundamental foundation for cultural progress and prosperity.
