Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Bashir Shaker Al-Awadi, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the college held an educational seminar entitled “Social Security and Labor Law in Iraq: Towards a Fair and Safe Work Environment.” Assistant Professor Duha Tariq Shawkat and Assistant Professor Khamail Mohsen Shadhan presented the seminar, and the session was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Roaa Abbas Asyoud.<\/p>\n

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of social security and labor law in Iraq in reducing class differences and achieving a degree of social justice. It also aimed to enhance job stability, encourage productivity, protect the rights of working women, and provide an understanding of the conditions for a safe work environment.<\/p>\n

It also included an overview of the Iraqi Labor Law, the challenges facing its implementation, and its most important legal provisions, including the definition of working hours (8 hours per day), the regulation of individual and collective employment contracts, and the conditions for a safe work environment.<\/p>\n

The most important Recommendations: Activate the role of regulatory bodies to ensure effective implementation of laws, protect workers’ rights, and spread legal awareness among workers and employers to enhance compliance with legislation. Encourage the integration of the informal sector into social security systems to expand the scope of protection and develop legislation in line with international standards and keep pace with economic and social developments. Focus on the role of women and youth in the labor market, ensuring their rights and effective participation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
