Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology at the college held a seminar on sleep patterns in various animals. Assistant Professor Dr. Miad Jabbar Sahib lectured.<\/p>\n
The seminar aimed to familiarize attendees with the physiological aspects of sleep in various animals. It also included an introduction to the stages of sleep and the brain waves prevalent in each stage, clarifying the basic differences between them in various animals (carnivores, birds, reptiles, fish, amphibians, and finally insects and invertebrates).<\/p>\n
The seminar recommended conducting future scientific studies on sleep in animals, which serve as models for understanding sleep disorders in humans, such as insomnia, narcolepsy, or sleep apnea.
