Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kallaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Musa Al-Khalidi, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Arts held an educational workshop entitled “The Role of Media in Raising Awareness of Climate Change.” The workshop was presented by Asst. M.M. Amir Riyad Kazim, and moderated by Asst. M.M. Zainab Muhammad Hamza<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to emphasize that climate change is one of the most serious challenges facing the world in the 21st century, with rising temperatures, melting ice, and recurring natural disasters. It has become imperative to mobilize efforts to raise awareness and promote collective action. Here, the role of the media emerges as a powerful tool for influence, persuasion, and conveying facts.<\/p>\n
The workshop’s most important recommendations are that the role of the media in combating climate change is to spread awareness among individuals and communities through news reports, documentaries, and awareness campaigns. The media can shed light on the causes of global warming, its impact on daily life, and possible solutions. Responsible media also has a mission to combat fake news about climate change by providing content based on science and research.
