The College of Medicine at Al-Qadisiyah University held its first annual festival to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals under the theme:
\n(The Role of Sustainable Medical Education Strategies in Creating a Sustainable Medical Environment). The event was attended by the University President, the Dean of the College, the Director of the Entrepreneurial Project Management Department in the Research and Development Department at the Ministry of Higher Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Thaer Munim Hamid, the Chair of the Health and Environment Committee in the Diwaniyah Provincial Council, a representative of the Diwaniyah Governor, the Mayor of Diwaniyah District, the Assistant Director of the Department of Agriculture, the Director of the Environment Department, the administration and staff of the Al-Noor Institute for the Blind, government and academic figures, and the college’s faculty and students.
\nThe first day of the festival included the inauguration of the Sustainable Development Monument in the college gardens, followed by an opening speech by the University President, followed by a speech by the Dean of the College. This was followed by a dialogue session on the free sustainable medical advisory service. The festival also honored the children of the Al-Noor Institute, lecturers, distinguished figures, and contributors, and then opened a charity market for homemade products and handicrafts.
