Under the patronage of the esteemed President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabir Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the esteemed Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Kazem Nuwair Al-Zubaidi, the College of Fine Arts at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a seminar titled “The Translator’s Betrayal of the Text.”<\/p>\n
The seminar was presented by Mr. Ali Najah Abd, a legal translator and member of the Iraqi Translators Association, as well as a German language trainer.<\/p>\n
The seminar was attended by the esteemed Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Dr. Kazem Nuwair Al-Zubaidi, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Anas Rahi Ali, along with a group of faculty members and students.<\/p>\n
The seminar addressed the concept of translation, its methods, its importance in the present time, and its role in transferring cultures and literatures between countries. The researcher pointed out literary translation and how it differs from other types of translation. He also discussed the concept of “the translator’s betrayal of the text,” and which is closer, noting that translators of this type, meaning well-known translators who have won international awards, must be proficient in their mother tongue and its culture, as well as proficient in the language they are translating from and its culture. He also discussed some examples and methods of translating them and which is closer to the Arabic language.<\/p>\n
The seminar recommended the necessity of avoiding electronic translation due to the changes it brings to the intended meaning, and emphasized the importance of resorting to translators, especially in literary and cultural books, due to their accumulated experience in this field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
