The Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science organized a workshop titled “The Role of Afforestation in Environmental Preservation.” Several faculty members and students from the college presented the workshop. The workshop included two topics: The first, presented by Asst. Magda Mohamed Abdel Falhi, defined the importance of afforestation and the most important trees that can be planted to improve the environment. The second, presented by Asst. Kawthar Hashem Abbar, covered the effects of afforestation on the environment, including its role in increasing oxygen levels and its impact on cities by purifying the air of environmental pollutants emitted through daily activities and events. The workshop also addressed the impact of afforestation on mental health, as well as the role of afforestation in protecting soil from erosion and reducing water losses. It also addressed the role of afforestation in preserving biodiversity in the environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
