Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Obaid Al-Hamzawi, the College of Science conducted a workshop entitled “Afforestation, Its Impact and Importance to the Environment.” Assistant Professor Amir Jaber Al-Khalidi lectured. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of afforestation and the possibility of forming plant communities by emphasizing the importance of planting trees and fruitful plants. Afforestation has a positive impact on the environment, represented by reducing harmful gas emissions, thus reducing global warming and preventing rising temperatures. Afforestation also provides other environmental benefits, including improving soil quality, increasing soil organic carbon levels, and preventing erosion and desertification. The workshop recommended raising community awareness of the importance of trees and their economic and environmental benefits, and encouraging individuals and communities to participate in afforestation campaigns to increase awareness and collective responsibility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
