The College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University participated in the Fifth International Conference on Architectural and Civil Engineering Sciences organized by Cihan University in Erbil in collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia, through the participation of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haitham Ali Badhi, with his research titled (Predicting the Behavior of Lightweight Concrete Beams Reinforced with Surface Mounted GFRP Bars Using the DIC Method), which included the use of the DIC digital method to predict the behavior of lightweight concrete beams reinforced with surface-mounted GFRP bars, where the force-displacement curves obtained from the DIC method were compared with those recorded experimentally to confirm the accuracy of the method and subsequently extract strain values using DIC to predict the failure pattern and compare it with the experimental failure pattern.<\/p>\n
Dr. Saif Imad Akoubi’s research, titled (Finite Element Analysis of the Bearing Capacity Factor of Undrained Soil Nc for Strip Foundations), included using the finite element method to study the effect of including foundation depth and soil weight on the soil bearing capacity factor in the case of undrained loading Nc, and it was also compared with the factors proposed in previous studies. The results showed that the inclusion of burial depth or soil weight has a significant impact on the accuracy of calculating the Nc factor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
