The College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University hosted a symposium of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Diwaniyah Branch, in cooperation with the Human Rights and Women’s Affairs Units, on the role of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate in defending and obtaining the rights of academics and enhancing the role of women in them, in the presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Al-Khalidi, heads of departments, a group of academics and representatives of the Syndicate from the university’s colleges. The symposium was lectured by Prof. Dr. Sajit Majeed Al-Moussawi, the Dean of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Diwaniyah Branch, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nabil Shalal Thamer, the representative of academics in the College of Engineering, Asst. Dr. Ali Abdul-Sada, the representative of academics in the College of Law, and Asst. M. Israa Riyadh, the Women’s Affairs Officer in the College of Engineering, and Asst. M. Nadia Kazem Awad, Head of the Human Rights Unit
\nThe seminar included several topics, including the financial dues of academics and the efforts made to obtain them, as well as the issue of land plots and the procedures related to them, enhancing the role of women in the union and finding solutions that hinder this trend, in addition to enhancing human rights and the union\u2019s steps in this regard.
