Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, and in the presence of the University Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Star Abdul-Hassan Al-Fatlawi, and supervised by the Dean of the College of Management and Economics, Professor Dr. Hussain Falah Ward, the College of Management and Economics held a workshop titled (The Universal Declaration of Human Rights) in the Ibn Khaldun Hall, presented by Professor Dr. Moussa Khalaf Awad.

The workshop addressed several issues related to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a historical document adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. It consists of 30 articles that define the fundamental rights and freedoms that should be enjoyed by all people, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, language, or any other status.

The workshop included a presentation highlighting the general principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, serving as a reference that states should adhere to in organizing economic, financial, and political relations free from anything that could provoke conflicts and bloody wars that the world has endured, especially the two World Wars witnessed in the twentieth century, which led to the undermining of the value and moral system of most countries due to the atrocities and massacres committed during these wars. The presenters called for the adoption of the general principles of human rights and acting accordingly in states’ interactions to promote justice and equality among nations, away from racism and regionalism.
