Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Surgery and Obstetrics at the College held a discussion session on the use of sonar in the reproductive system in mares, in which Prof. Dr. Khaled Mohammed Karam Al-Sayyad lectured. The aim of the session was to identify the importance of using the sonar device, which must be of a high-frequency type (5-10 MHz), through which the normal anatomy of the reproductive system can be known and the different cases that affect it can be distinguished. The session included addressing how to diagnose pregnancy in mares, as it can be used to detect the fetal vesicle at the age of 12-14 days and the fetal heartbeat at the age of 25-30 days. It can also diagnose pathological conditions, including polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, or pregnancy complications such as fetal loss or deformity.
