Assistant Professor Alaa Al-Saadi from the Department of Theater Arts at the College of Fine Arts at Al-Qadisiyah University participated in the cultural seminar titled “Fashion Performance Transitions Between Excess and Austerity,” moderated by Dr. Ikhlas Jabreen from the Literary Department at the Najaf Ashraf Center for Strategic Studies.<\/p>\n
The seminar aimed to clarify the concepts of transitions, fashion and performance, consumption, and consumerist excess, as well as how fashion originated and its significant transitions from its inception to the present day. It reviewed the most important semantic employments, expressions, and symbolic codes associated with it, and highlighted the critical methodologies used to uncover the semiotics of clothing and other fashions. The discussion emphasized how identity can be diluted and cultures unified through the fashions entering the country, as well as the necessity of adhering to the dress identity of each country and culture, and how this has manifested between excess and austerity over time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
