The Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a workshop entitled “The Behavior and Applications of Permeable Concrete,” presented by Dr. Ola Mazen Makki.
The workshop addressed the concept of permeable concrete, its mechanical and environmental properties, and its behavior under various operating conditions. It also highlighted its practical applications in infrastructure projects, roads, parking lots, and facilities requiring effective stormwater management.
The workshop further reviewed the key advantages of permeable concrete, including improved drainage, reduced surface runoff, and minimized water accumulation. It also emphasized its role in supporting environmental sustainability and preserving natural resources.
