The Department of Materials Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a specialized training course entitled “Solar Energy System Design: A Comprehensive Engineering Guide” in the college’s Continuing Education Hall. The course was presented by Eng. Rahim Dohan Awais
The course aimed to prepare engineering personnel capable of supplying the labor market with the necessary expertise to implement clean energy projects, and to provide a comprehensive engineering guide linking theoretical academic aspects with practical field application.
The course also highlighted the scientific and applied aspects necessary for building and designing highly efficient solar energy systems. It included understanding the sun’s movement and how to calculate the optimal angles of incidence to maximize the utilization of photovoltaic cells, as well as identifying the types of solar panels, inverters, regulators, and batteries, and how to select the most suitable technical specifications for each project.
