The Materials Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a specialized training course entitled “Solar Energy System Design: A Comprehensive Engineering Guide.” The course was held in the college’s Continuing Education Hall and presented by Eng. Rahim Dohan Awais.
The course aimed to prepare engineering professionals capable of supplying the job market with the necessary expertise to implement clean energy projects and to provide a comprehensive engineering guide that bridges the gap between theoretical academic knowledge and practical field application.
The course also highlighted the scientific and applied aspects necessary for building and designing highly efficient solar energy systems. It included understanding the sun’s movement and how to calculate the optimal angles of incidence to maximize the utilization of photovoltaic cells, as well as identifying different types of solar panels, inverters, regulators, and batteries, and how to select the most suitable technical specifications for each project.
