Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Salwan Ali Obaid Al-Hamzawi, the Department of Medical Physics at the College of Science held a scientific course entitled “The Role of Mathematics in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.” The course was presented by Mr. Salam Abdul Hussein Sahin Al-Maliki.
The course aimed to clarify the role of mathematics as a tool for understanding global challenges in achieving sustainable development, through analyzing how mathematical models can be used to address environmental, social, and economic issues that affect human well-being. The course concluded that mathematics is one of the most important scientific tools that contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, as it provides the necessary quantitative methods for understanding and accurately analyzing complex problems. Through mathematical modeling, statistics, and data analysis, issues related to natural resources, population growth, energy, health, and the environment can be studied, which helps in predicting future trends and making decisions based on scientific principles.
