The Sustainable Development Unit at the College of Law, Al-Qadisiyah University, held a scientific seminar entitled “The Impact of Water Scarcity on Economic Development.” The seminar featured presentations by Assistant Lecturers Mohammed Jameel Abdul-Amir, Rasel Majid Kadhim, and Noor Sami Dakhel.
The seminar aimed to achieve a balance between the competing demands for water in various sectors, such as agriculture and industry, while preserving ecosystems and addressing the challenges posed by climate change and population growth. Water is essential for life, and in urban areas, the demand for water is increasing due to population growth and the proliferation of factories. The availability of clean water sources in cities is under immense pressure, leading to various challenges that hinder sustainable development.
