Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yassiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ali Hassan Ali Murad, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Dentistry, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a workshop entitled “Professional Conscience in Medical Practice.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Anad Kadhim Hussein.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of professional conscience and ethical responsibility in medical practice, explain the role of conscience in regulating physician conduct, and emphasize the importance of ethical values such as honesty, integrity, and respect for the patient. It also stressed the physician’s humanitarian responsibility and the importance of building trust with patients. Among the most important recommendations were the necessity of instilling the concept of professional conscience in medical students from their early years of study, promoting ethical values in medical practice, particularly honesty, integrity, and respect for patient privacy, adopting regular awareness programs and training workshops focused on medical ethics, and emphasizing the importance of building a relationship based on trust and mutual respect between physician and patient.
