Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yassiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidy, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy organized an awareness lecture entitled “Our Climate is Changing… How Do We Face the Danger?” The lecture was presented by Professor Dr. Hussein Ali Abdul Hussein.
The lecture addressed climate change in general, explaining its types and the extent of its impact on humanity in particular, given its effect on human existence on Earth and its subsequent repercussions on all aspects of life, including economic, political, and health-related matters.
Key recommendations included increasing individual and institutional environmental awareness, accelerating the transition to renewable energy, enhancing energy efficiency, protecting ecosystems, and adopting sustainable agriculture, which includes key strategies for reducing carbon emissions. The lecture also suggested developing infrastructure to adapt to extreme weather conditions.
