Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Omran Al-Khalidi, and as part of the activities of the Day of Hope for Suicide Prevention, the Educational and Psychological Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the academic departments of the College of Arts, held a scientific seminar entitled “Suicide: Understanding its Causes and Prevention.” The seminar was presented by Dr. Firas Abdul-Khaliq and Ms. Liqa Abdul-Khader, and moderated by Ms. Hanan Lafteh Hamza.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness of the phenomenon of suicide by understanding its causes and contributing factors, introducing methods of prevention and treatment, and contributing to reducing its occurrence and promoting mental health among individuals. The seminar also addressed the concept of suicide, its causes, and prevention through strengthening social and family support, encouraging seeking help, and urging people not to remain silent.
