The College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a specialized workshop entitled “Waste-to-Energy Technologies: Engineering Principles and Sustainable Applications,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Ali Karim.

 

The workshop addressed modern strategies aimed at reducing reliance on fossil fuels by utilizing waste as an economic and environmental resource. It covered the engineering principles, explained the thermal, chemical, and biological processes used to convert solid waste into electrical or thermal energy, discussed sustainable applications, and reviewed successful global models in waste-to-energy management and conversion. The workshop also explored how to adapt these technologies to the local environment.
