Dr. Zulfiqar Salem Hussein, a faculty member at the College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University, published a joint research paper with Dr. Hamza Taher Ta’ma, a lecturer at the Southern Technical University in Basra, in collaboration with researcher Ami Hassan Md Din, a lecturer at UTM University in Malaysia, published a study titled “A Map of Future Coastal Inundation Risks for Iraq Using Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing” in the prestigious international journal Earth, published by MDPI.
The research aimed to assess the risks of future coastal inundation along the 58 km Iraqi coastline resulting from sea-level rise up to the year 2100.
It is worth noting that Earth is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) of the Scopus database and has a CiteScore of 5.9. It is also indexed in the Clarivate Analytics database with an Impact Factor of 3.4.
