The Department of Roads and Transportation Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a specialized workshop entitled “Statistical Survey Methodology and its Role in Providing Statistical and Demographic Data.” The workshop, held in the Continuing Education Hall, was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Salam Mitham Jaber, Lecturer Abdul Samad Adnan Lafteh, and Engineer Firas Mueen Abdul Ridha.
The workshop aimed to highlight the strategic importance of statistical data in engineering and urban planning. It also addressed several topics, including data collection mechanisms, modern scientific methods for conducting field surveys, ensuring the accuracy of samples and demographic data, analyzing population characteristics, and how to utilize this data in designing road and transportation networks to accommodate population growth.
