Under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Aqil Rahim Al-Barqawi, and in cooperation with the Sustainable Development Unit at Al-Qadisiyah University, a workshop was held to discuss the completion of the sustainable development plan in the College of Medicine for the heads of the basic and clinical branches. Professor Dr. Mai Jalil Abdul, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit at Al-Qadisiyah University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Oras Madi Shahid, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit at the College of Medicine, attended.
The workshop showed the seventeen sustainable development goals, and the sustainable development plan and the extent of its achievement in the college were discussed. It also covered the details of the Green classification for environmental sustainability and the weights of the six axes and the extent of their achievement.
A group of courses for renewable and sustainable energy were proposed, which will be included in the curriculum for students this year.
The session recommended the necessity of joint cooperation between the heads of the branches in the college and the officials of the sustainable development units in the college and the university to quickly complete the plan for the College of Medicine of Al-Qadisiyah
