A scientific workshop was held on the importance of sustainable development indicators and green education in the presence of the head of the Sustainable Development Unit, Prof. Dr. Mai Jalil Abdul, and the head of green education, Lecturer Dr. Raad Farhan Shahid, in Sheikh Al-Waili Hall, in the presence of Dr. Zainab Karim, the head of women’s affairs at the governorate’s office, and a group of professors.
The workshop included a speech by the President of the University in which he explained the importance of sustainable development in enhancing capacity building in science, technology and innovation by directing scientific research to achieve the response to the requirements of achieving its goals and identifying the difficulties that may face the process of implementing sustainable development programs and their goals.
After that, the workshop was launched, in which Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Shammari, Head of the Global Classifications Unit at the University Presidency, gave a lecture entitled “The Importance of Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in Enhancing Global University Classifications.” Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Al-Fuadi, Head of the Green Metrics Standards Classification in Global Classifications, also addressed a set of guidelines on the process of providing colleges with data related to the above classification for the purpose of uploading them to the portal designated for our university, and the importance of this in enhancing the university’s global classifications.
