The book focuses on a new experience for the poet Yahya Al-Samawi through a critical reading of his latest poetry collection, “A River with One Bank.” The reader will find both the poetry collection and its accompanying critical study in a single volume. The poems appear within its covers—in their first public appearance—along with their accompanying analysis. Each poem is presented with a textual and applied critical study, which the author examines line by line through an approach he terms “accompanying criticism.” The study comes in twelve chapters, each chapter being dedicated to a poem, due to the fact that the poetry collection came in twelve poems. Each chapter is made up of two sections, the first of which is the poem itself, and the second is the study that takes its critical interpretation. The study in all the chapters was conducted in accordance with a critical vision, focused on a poetic detail that organizes all the poems of the collection in a dominant stylistic order. The twelve banks came in sequence as follows: (Confusion, Biography, Space-Time, The Other, Woman, Absence, Imagination, Eroticism, Question, Constraint, Forgetfulness, Adam’s Bank).
