Assistant Lecturer Radwan Ali Katea, a faculty member at the College of Dentistry at Al-Qadisiyah University, contributed to the publication of a joint scientific paper in the journal Sustainable Chemistry One World, published by Elsevier and indexed in Scopus. The paper, titled “Magnetic Nanoparticles as Recyclable Catalysts in the Production of Biodiesel from Microalgae,” explores the production of biodiesel from microalgae using magnetic nanoparticles as recyclable catalysts. This approach is based on the high efficiency, separability, and improved processing methods of these nanoparticle-based catalysts. These magnetic nanoparticle-based catalysts combine the advantages of both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts, resulting in high efficiency in the transesterification process with lower environmental toxicity.
