Professor Dr. Ibrahim Abdulmajid Mustafa, a faculty member in the Microbiology Department at the College of Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University, in collaboration with doctoral student Zainab Kadhim Abdulhussain, published a research paper in the international journal Advancement in Life Sciences, indexed in Scopus. The paper, titled “Gene Expression Levels of miRNA-181a and miRNA-128 as Predictive Markers for Treatment Response in Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Patients,” aimed to study the potential biomarkers of microRNAs (miRNAs), such as miRNA-181a and miRNA-128, and their potential as biomarkers for various therapeutic applications. These applications include detecting acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), predicting relapse, and monitoring patient response to treatment. Furthermore, identifying additional microRNA biomarkers enables scientists to develop entirely new therapeutic approaches.
