The Department of Roads and Transportation Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Qadisiyah University, organized a field trip for fourth-year students to Al-Sunbula Stadium in Diwaniyah, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Salam Mitham Shaker and Lecturer Rand Mohammed Jassim.
The scientific trip aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practice, and to provide students with the opportunity to closely observe the latest technologies and engineering specifications used in the field of roads and their associated facilities within a vital and large-scale project like the stadium.
During the tour, the students also learned about the various stages of implementing the road network surrounding and within the stadium, the work mechanisms employed, including leveling and paving, and how construction materials are applied according to standard specifications and modern paving techniques. They also learned about the types of asphalt mixes used and the methods of laying and compacting them.
