The President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, participated in supervising the archaeological excavations being carried out by professors and students of the College of Archaeology, accompanied by his Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Sattar Abdul-Hassan Al-Fatlawi, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Rajwan Faisal Al-Mayali, and a group of professors and students.
The College of Archaeology at Al-Qadisiyah University welcomed the University President, who initiated a field visit to the Al-Rumayhiyah archaeological site to review the latest developments in the excavations being conducted by the Al-Qadisiyah University mission in cooperation with Durham University in the UK.
This visit by His Excellency comes within the framework of his regular field monitoring of research, scientific, and construction projects implemented by the colleges, particularly the College of Archaeology, which aims to enhance scientific research and international cooperation in the field of archaeology. The archaeological site of Tell al-Ramahiyya, located on the al-Shanafiyah road, is considered one of the important sites whose discoveries contribute to understanding the history of the ancient civilizations that flourished in the region.
It is worth noting that the College of Archaeology is conducting some of the most prominent excavation campaigns in the aforementioned area in cooperation with research figures from Durham University in the UK.
