Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Mahdi Al-Yassiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, held an expanded meeting with the Scientific Advisory Committee, chaired by Professor Dr. Abbas Sabbar, Head of the Quality Assurance Department at the University Presidency, to discuss a number of scientific and administrative issues related to developing university performance and strengthening frameworks for international cooperation.

 

The meeting began with a review of the results of the visit by a delegation from the College of Education, represented by the Dean of the College of Education, Professor Dr. Sattar Hamid Al-Janabi, and Advisory Committee member Professor Dr. Sami Bashir Al-Hasnawi, to University College London (UCL) in the United Kingdom. The visit included discussions on prospects for scientific cooperation between the two universities, particularly in the humanities, and efforts to expand cooperation to include scientific disciplines within the College of Education and other colleges at the university.

 

The meeting also discussed ways to develop academic work at the university by activating graduate programs, enhancing opportunities for joint academic supervision, and encouraging scientific research and publication in reputable international journals. This will positively impact the quality of university performance and help achieve international academic accreditation standards.

 

During the meeting, the university president emphasized the importance of academic rankings and the necessity of concerted efforts among colleges and research centers to advance the university’s academic and administrative standing. He stressed that improving the university’s position in global rankings requires institutional work based on research excellence, administrative development, and academic innovation.

 

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of continuing to hold periodic meetings of the advisory committee to monitor the implementation of development plans and establish practical mechanisms to activate the outcomes of international cooperation. This will serve the university’s academic progress and enhance its standing in the academic community both locally and globally
